The Community Programs Center generated the dynamic, long term partnership between Southeast Community Services, Southeast Health Center, and the University to enhance the social and health services provided by the agencies to the residents of the Southeast Neighborhoods of Indianapolis. Together the partners provide comprehensive services to residents while providing valuable service-learning and professional practice opportunities to University students, staff, and faculty. Participating academic disciplines include Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Psychology, Social Work, and Applied Sociology. The Center includes University classrooms, conference rooms, offices, exam rooms, counseling rooms, medical lab, computer lab, fitness room, and a community research center.
(SE Health Center) has been providing health services to area residents for over 30 years. Services include:
Through partnerships with SECS and UIndy, SE Health Center will work to provide more services, including occupational therapy, physical therapy, psychological services, social services, nursing, and increased geriatric services.
Southeast Community Services will continue to offer employment services, emergency assistance, information and referral, and a senior nutrition and activity program. Co-located services include:
The new facility includes offices, classroom space, a computer lab, and a wellness center for senior citizens (in conjunction with the UIndy).
